The YMCA of Southwestern Indiana serves more than 9,000 youth annually, aged from two months through 18 years in a wide variety of programs including child care, camping, sports, aquatics, enrichment and more. Before and After School Care

With so many demands on today’s families, parents need all the help they can get. That’s why we’re America’s largest nonprofit child care provider! We help thousands of children every day reach their fullest potential in a welcoming, supportive environment. By incorporating the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility into all of our youth services programming. We give children the solid foundation they need to thrive—not only in school, but beyond. Our School Age Child Care Programs ensure that your child’s time is spent creatively and constructively.You can feel confident knowing that your child is safe and well cared for by highly qualified staff. All of our staff are CPR and First Aid certified and we meet or exceed state staff-to-child ratios.Before and After School Child Care Program is available for children who need care before school and/or after school. Children may attend before school from 6:30 am until school starts and from the end of the school day until 6:00 pm

School Day Off Program

The YMCA now offers an option for working parents caught in a dilemma on days when school is canceled due to snow and ice. We offer supervised games, swim time, open gym, and activities in our youth center for school age children (K-6). Each child should bring a sack lunch, swim suit, and towel daily. Program includes the following dates (must register as either EVSC or WCSC):

Registration: Spots are limited. Registration begins August 27.  Click here to register online. Children must be registered by 5:00pm the day before school is out.

Y-Members: $170 / Non-Y-Members: $215. $25 discount for each additional child in the same family. Fee includes childcare for all the above dates, including dates when school is canceled due to the weather. Fee will not be pro-rated.

YMCA Child and Babysitting Safety Class

Are your kids at home alone after school, in charge of watching their  younger siblings or excited to start babysitting for others? Babysitting 101 provides basic first aid and CPR skills, how to prevent choking, water hazards and other emergencies as well as other common problems babysitters face. Participants also learn infant and child feeding and diapering procedures and how to provide  fun activities to entertain and engage kids of all ages. Students need to bring their own lunch. Class includesa CABS certification card, workbook with notes, and mini first aid kit.

Parents’ Night Out

Parent deserve a night out. Have dinner, go shopping, see a movie, or just relax at home. Enjoy a night out without the kids, and take the worry out of finding a babysitter. Children 5-11 yrs old can enjoy an evening with dinner, games, swimming, crafts and snacks while hanging out with their friends and our energetic staff.
